In a shocking turn of events, 4chan founder Christopher “Moot” Poole has hired famous lawyer Michael Horowitz to sue trademark-infringing startup “moot.it” for $100,000/day.
The yet-to-launch Oregon-based startup company that promises to reimagine forums and commenting has slandered Poole's online persona.
“At least $12 million dollars in revenue has already been lost,” said Horowitz in a press release. “Trademark infringement might sound innocent, but it negatively affects the U.S. economy and makes millions of Americans lose their jobs. We expect to be reimbursed for the full amount, but won't be seeking out additional penalties.”
However, not everyone are supportive of this legal battle. “[L]ooks like Chris Poole has an overinflated sense of self worth,” said political analyst and commentator, Joe Olive. Finnish LGBT rights activist and furry convention attender “Zeekill” supports this opinion, stating that moot is less worth than your average holocaust victim.
Other sources suggest that Mr Poole is upset over the fact that Poole's for-profit side project, Canv.ass, failed to take on and become the money generator 4chan was intended to be. The world's most cited source, Wikipedia, suggests that moot is of Jewish descent with an estimated net worth of $276 million.
Neither Poole, nor the founders of Moot.it, have commented.
Michael Horowitz is a lawyer from Australia, famous for his multi-million dollar lawsuits against antisemitic website Encyclopedia Dramatica and the terrorist-funded Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
